Manurewa has a bit of everything when it comes to houses. There are the solid 1950s and 60s weatherboard and brick homes around the town centre and Hillpark, plenty of 70s and 80s units, and newer two-storey places out at Wattle Downs and Clendon. They all get dirty in different ways, so we don't treat them the same.

What Manurewa houses usually need
South walls and eaves going green. South Auckland winters are damp, and the side of the house that never sees the sun picks up mould and algae first. A soft wash kills it rather than just knocking the surface off, so it doesn't come straight back.
Older weatherboards with tired paint. On a 60-year-old weatherboard, a hard blast can lift paint and drive water behind the boards. We use low pressure and a cleaning solution on painted timber, and keep the water blaster for concrete.
Concrete tile roofs with moss and lichen. Plenty of Manurewa homes have concrete tile roofs, and they hold moss in the grooves. You can have it washed off now, or sprayed with a treatment that kills it off over 4 to 6 weeks.
Harbour-side homes. Houses at Wattle Downs and Weymouth look out over the Manukau Harbour and the Pahurehure Inlet, and the breeze off the water leaves a film on windows and joinery. It's worth washing more often than a house further inland.
Driveways and paths. Long concrete driveways, often shared on back sections, go dark and slippery in winter. Water blasting brings them back up and makes them safer to walk on.
